Entrepreneurial Individuals Can Be
Made
ESA
believes that entrepreneurial individuals and
leaders can be formed. The school’s unique and
non-traditional combination of academic,
co-curricular, and extra-curricular programs are all
geared precisely towards that. ESA provides students
various opportunities to not only learn and grow but
also to push them to go beyond themselves in terms
of knowledge, attitudes, values, and skills. |
|
Igniting the Entrepreneurial Flame
An important pillar of the ESA learning experience
is the Entrepreneurial Formation Program. The
activities that constitute the program are designed
to unleash and strengthen the entrepreneurial
spirit—self-knowledge, personal and interpersonal
leadership, intelligent risk-taking, courage,
self-confidence, creativity, perseverance, and
determination – that are the hallmarks of successful
individuals, whether they start and run their own
businesses or join a large multinational
organization. This entrepreneurial spirit lies
within individuals – ESA programs simply ignite it
and fan its flames. |

Learning by Doing
ESA believes that learning in the classroom is
insufficient. To truly learn anything, one must actually
try doing it.
Whether marketing or
management concepts, intelligent risk-taking, or
personal leadership, ESA students are placed in
environments that require them to apply what they
study. |
|
An integral aspect of the
entrepreneurial education of all ESA students is to
be able to learn more about themselves. They are
exposed to various activities and experiences that
will facilitate acquiring more self-knowledge which
is ultimately allows for better self-improvement.
ESA employs non-traditional
out-of-the -classroom learning tools to complement lectures.
Such exercises highlight the crucial entrepreneurial skills,
attitudes, and values. |
|
The Mentoring Program
Curricular and
co-curricular learning experiences of students are evaluated
with the help of mentors to maximize the learning from exercises
and with the aim of improving.
All freshmen are assigned mentors to guide them in
their initial transition. In their upper years,
students are assigned business mentors to advise
them on ventures and projects |

Entrepreneurs for Society
ESA aims to create “Entrepreneurs for Society”. As
such, ESA inculcates in its students that they
should pursue the “triple bottom line”—profits,
people, and planet. As part of their EXL
(Experiential Learning) series, all students are
also given the opportunity to practice social
responsibility and actually make a positive impact
on the lives of the underprivileged and on the
natural environment. |
|
In their Business Ethics class,
students are required to set up a temporary
"business project" and expose it to the discipline
and rigors of a competitive market while focusing on
operating it with high ethical standards in mind. Students are evaluated based on
their project's Triple Bottom Line performance.
Proceeds are donated to charitable institutions. |
